33-12 ‘Caesious’

Cæsious is a distinctive strawberry wood freehand. The flared bowl is completely surrounded by craggy blasted ring grain. It has a buffalo horn extension and unique German ebonite stem, with shades of grey-blue and green in a cumberland style. Cæsious is surprisingly light, and its unusual shape would make a fine addition to your collection.

This is well designed pipe! I must say, though, I was expecting a smooth finish instead of a blasted one.
Yet again, nice work!
Thanks Neil! Strawberry wood is very odd and usually the grain is less than exemplary. They make fine blasts however!
This is a fabulous pipe! May I ask if you think you can duplicate it again and if so what the price would be? It would also make a very nice POY if the price was within the price range of enough members to make it worth your while. Anyway, this pipe keeps grabbing my attention! Tell me, what does strawberry wood smoke like? Could it be done in briar?
I will write you a full note on this in an email. Yes it can be made in briar. Strawberry wood is of the briar family (erica arborea) just a bit different in grain structure. Its grain is far from beautiful most of the time but it blasts quite well, so you will mostly see makers blasting it.
