I was pleased to have one of my customers and his wife pay a visit to my shop not long ago. He wanted to smoke his recently acquired one-knuckle bamboo billiard with its maker and see the shop in which it was made. His wife purchased it to celebrate their anniversary and was able to keep it a secret with a little clandestine help from me. What a fantastic spouse!
The inaugural bowl was smoked in friendship, stories and laughter. Much laughter. We are friends from a forum we’re both a part of and have hung out on one other occasion, the 2011 Chicago Pipe Show. After our smoke, I gave them a tour of the shop and even was able to restore a Pre-Republic Peterson for him. I also showed him the progress on the Gear-Punk pipe I recently completed.
I really enjoy when my friends are able to make it out to my shop and enjoy a good smoke and conversation. Here’s to hoping there will be many more visits!
